We hope you’re all well and staying safe.
We just wanted to let you all know that Rachel Smith our Safeguarding Officer is re-joining the fold as of the 6th July 2020!
As you all know, Rachel introduced the new ‘Safeguarding In Sport’ course in March as a minimum operating standard for all BT coaches, with a completion deadline of 30th June.
We can appreciate that everybody has had a lot to deal with over the past few months, with many coaches working full time jobs alongside keeping their Taekwondo clubs afloat, a number of coaches being first responders and frontline workers, while a number of coaches are also taking on childcare and home schooling during this period of time while schools are closed. We have also received a few queries from coaches that Rachel needs to take a look at before they complete the course.
Taking all of the above into consideration, we have decided to extend the deadline for completion of the ‘Safeguarding In Sport’ course to 31st August 2020.
Please could we ask all BT Coaches who have not yet completed the course, to set some time aside to take this course between now and the 31st August. The course should take approximately 2 hours to complete.
Please could we also ask everybody to send their certificates to Rachel at Safeguarding@britishtaekwondo.org. once you have completed the course (if you have already done this, that is great, please ignore this – you do not need to resend your certificate).
Please Note: This will be the final extension that we will be making for this course. If you think that you will be unable to complete the ‘Safeguarding In Sport’ course by 31st August 2020 or have any other queries, please contact Rachel at Safeguarding@britishtaekwondo.org.
