As you are probably already aware, the situation regarding the Covid19 outbreak and measures introduced by our government and other countries further afield, has significantly impacted on Taekwondo related events and activity.

In the first instance, we would advise that anyone planning to attend National Squad training sessions or similar type events should check with coaches and organisers first before setting off to make sure the event is still going ahead.

As we set out last week, event and competition hosts in the UK with something coming up in the next few weeks, are also recommended to consult with their venues, local authorities, hotels and suppliers as soon as possible to ascertain the potential impacts, whether they can or cannot go ahead and what the financial implications are.

Some venues, hotels and suppliers may be willing to consider rolling a booking forward and not charging cancellation fees instantly, so we would recommend discussing this with them as soon as possible and get ahead of the curve.

Further afield, we have seen the Olympic and Paralympic qualifiers cancelled, the Belgium Open called off at the last minute and the World Poomsae Championships cancelled too. We are waiting with apprehension to see if more overseas National government action to combat Covid19 affects other events in the next couple of weeks.

We will keep everyone posted as soon as we hear anything.

In the meantime, please follow government advice relating to hygiene and take sensible precautions where you can.
