British Taekwondo are happy to announce the winner of the 2019 ‘Caroline Facer Memorial Trophy’ is Morgan Curtis of Koryo Taekwondo.
The winner of this award is a hugely deserving and worthy winner. Morgan Curtis of Koryo Taekwondo has been training and competing since she was 4 years old. She has been a member of the Cadet Development Programme since its inception and has recently won Silver in the 2019 Cadet European Championships and is current British Champion.
Caroline Facer was a GB Team Member and worked extremely hard to achieve the things she did and had a very successful competition career. This award, in her honour, is to celebrate the same traits and talents in an up-and-coming player.
Morgan has exactly the right qualities that this award is for, dedicated, committed and despite set-backs along the way has shown the spirit and determination to make her the perfect choice to win this award for this year.
“We are all extremely proud here at Koryo Quakers of the way Morgan showed true spirit and perseverance this year with all of her amazing achievements in her final year as a cadet” – Debbie Williamson & Paul Horsley – Koryo Club Coaches.
Caroline’s family and Scorpion Taekwondo coaches said “We have chosen Morgan for this years Award because we believe she stands for everything that Caz stood for. Morgan has a quiet determination that not everyone sees. She isn’t boastful or loud, keeps her head down, trains hard and has the ‘never give up’ attitude that Caz would have loved. She proved her determination with her biggest achievement so far winning silver in the Cadet Euros only missing out on gold by a point. We couldn’t think of a more worthy winner for 2019!”.
