Update from British Taekwondo Interim Chair Jonny Cowan

Following the recent update from the Board, we have continued to work hard to put key things in place as we take British Taekwondo forward.

Over the last three months, the Board and office team have fully reviewed operations, and have analysed what the organisation needs to enhance the support for clubs, instructors, members, events, athletes and the business & sport in general.

With some changes made and more ahead, we thank Kay Davis for the support provided over recent months and wish Kay well for the future.

We would also like to thank Adam Chantrey who has led the line for us on social media and the website over recent years. Adam is still helping us with important communications and promotion before finishing at the end of April.

And today we went live with an exciting phase of recruitment.

We want to have a full Board including independent views and skills to support our ambitions. We also want to recruit a new CEO and a couple of important office roles.

And, we will be recruiting an Independent Chair. Over the last six months, my full time marketing & commercial work has increased significantly, thus limiting my time. It has been a pleasure to be on the Board for a 3-year term, to be Interim Chair, and to work and connect with so many passionate people. I am keen to support this exciting period of recruitment, to work with the team and provide a solid handover, and hopefully see members at the AGM in November (date to be confirmed soon) to formally step down.

James and Rhiannon in the team will be taking more responsibility for club development & coaching qualifications, and marketing & communication respectively.

This is a proactive and positive time for British Taekwondo. We are all looking forward to pushing on over the coming weeks and months.
