Over recent months one of the priority areas of focus for the British Taekwondo Board has been creating the ability for the organisation to invest more support and resources into our members and their activities.
Following recent positive announcements regarding the future of the British Taekwondo Cadet Programme – There has been a further ambition to find ways to support the development of our British Taekwondo Poomsae programme and our British Team representatives.
We are therefore extremely pleased to announce that the Board has agreed to fund the purchase of the official team flights – from Stanstead Airport – for all individual players and coaches attending the Poomsae European Championship as part of the British Taekwondo Team.
Mark Abberley, CEO of British Taekwondo stated that ‘with a large team of players and coaches this is not an insignificant investment, but it is intended to reduce the financial burden experienced by our individual members when representing their country. We recognise the contribution they are making to British Taekwondo and we want to provide a more collective and professional environment for our team’.
I would like to thank the Board for unanimously supporting this investment. On behalf of British Taekwondo, I congratulate all the team on their selection and wish them all every success at these upcoming European Championships’.
