Yorkshire Sport has 10 more places available for the ‘Accelerate Your Coaching’ peer mentoring programme in South Yorkshire; which has been designed for coaches working at the first step of the talent pathway. Typically, this means coaches working with participants who have been selected from where they started playing their sport into an environment for participants with talent. This varies from sport to sport but some examples are academies, county squads and regional squads.
Coaches from a variety of sports will be brought together in a peer mentoring environment to learn from each other whilst assessing their own strengths and areas for development. The programme will include a series of three face-to-face discussion based seminars and the sports coach UK Talent Foundation Series workshops (further information including a timetable is attached).
The discussion-based seminars will be facilitated by Paul Greaves, coach of current Olympic Trampolining Silver Medallist, Bryony Page. Paul is very well placed to support our local coaches. Paul has grown up in Sheffield; he established Abbey Flyers Trampoline Club who provide coaching for grass roots participants through to performance level athletes, and has produced some of the best trampolinists in the country.
The first mentoring session will be on 18th October and all coaches must register interest via this link to be considered – http://wysport.sportsuite.co.uk/forms/view/accelerate. The deadline to register is Tuesday 11th October.
