ORGANISERS of the 2012 European Championship are urging spectators to buy tickets in advance to guarantee admission.
There have been record pre sales for a major taekwondo event in the UK, especially with Great Britain’s Olympic hopefuls on parade.
Demand has been noticeably high for the weekend when the four nominated GB Olympic weight categories (men: -68kg/-80kg, women: -57kg, -67kg) will be the main attractions.
As a result, the 1,100 capacity Regional Arena at Sportcity, is filling up fast.
And spectators hoping to pay on the day for Saturday and Sunday could be disappointed.
GB Event Director Ian Leafe confirmed:”There is a real possibility spectators arriving without tickets may not gain entry.
“The European Championships have captured the public imagination with the calibre of athletes competing and  with the Olympics being so close.
“So, we would advise anyone thinking of coming to the Championships to buy tickets in advance to guarantee a seat.”
*Tickets are priced at £11 adults, £6 children (under 16). Single day tickets are available for Saturday and Sunday upto 2pm on Friday-subject to availability- and collectable from the venue.
They can be booked via 0844 844 0444 or from
