World Youth Taekwondo Camp – Seoul & Muju – 6 to 11 August 2009 – DEADLINE EXTENDED

The World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) will hold the above camp in partnership with the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation (TPF) (5 nights/6 days).

The camp is scheduled as part of the WTF Solidarity Program in line with the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) inauguration of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG), which will be held in Singapore in 2010.

Participants will need to fund their own attendance, including airfare but excluding accommodation and local transportation from time of arrival and to and from Incheon Airport, which will be provided by the TPF.

Participants must have a current and valid BTCB licence and a full and valid UK Passport with at least 6 months validity to return date of travel.

The objectives of the camp are to:

• Provide high level taekwondo training and education of taekwondo spirit
• Educate on Olympic values and ideals
• Inform on purpose and background of the YOG in commemoration of the inaugural YOG in Singapore in 2010
• Provide a chance for sport and cultural exchanges

This camp is not a selection event, and to qualify for possible selection, the following requirements need to be met:

• Junior Taekwondo athletes aged between 14 and 17 years
• Holders of Kukkiwon Poom/Dan grade

National and International performances over the last six months will be taken into consideration, and a Selection Panel from Sport Taekwondo UK Ltd will convene to decide whether an athlete(s) will be selected.
