Sophie Chatel- Olympic Flame Torchbearer

 “Sophie Chatel 4th Dan - of Carlton Arena Taekwondo Club and a member of the Great Britain National Poomsae Squad, carried the Olympic torch in Nottingham on Friday 29 June 2012.
Sophie was nominated by the Nottingham County Council for her achievements in Poomsae over the last two years. She was also awarded by the same Council the “Rising Star” yearly Nottinghamshire sport award for 2011.”

Here is a quote from Sophie;
"The whole experience was surreal - it was a great honour for me to be
chosen to carry the Olympic Torch and be a part of history. Running through
the crowd was an overwhelming feeling I'll never forget, made even better by
my family, friends and Taekwondo colleagues being there to cheer me on."
