LONDON PREPARES SERIES – TAEKWONDO TOURNAMENT

REGISTRATION OF INTEREST – CLOSURE: 14 OCTOBER 2011

 

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games is staging a “London Prepares” Taekwondo tournament.  The tournament will be contested on 3 and 4 December at the same venue that will host the London 2012 Olympic Games.

 

The following weight categories will be contested (and in accordance to WTF rules); Male -68kg, Male -80kg, Female -49kg and Female +67kg.

 

Please note: the French Open competition date has moved to 10 to 11 December.  The French Open is one of the events from the Olympic selection criteria where performances, amongst other factors, will be taken into account by the selection panel for the London 2012 Games for considering the selection of athletes.  GB Taekwondo recommends that athletes who have registered an interest to be considered for the Olympic Games prioritise their entry to attend the French Open.

 

GB Taekwondo have limited funding available and can contribute towards selected athletes’ accommodation only for a maximum of 2 nights.  Athletes should only apply to be considered if there is an ability to self fund other costs, such as travel.

• Full name and date of birth
• Address, telephone and email contact details
• A British citizen with a British passport with at least 6 months validity
• BTCB Member No and Expiry Date
• Chosen weight group
• Provide summary of last 12 months’ competition results

 

APPLICATIONS FOR ATHLETES UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST BE SUBMITTED BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN.
