At just 18 years old Joel Jackson has battled his way to the top of his sport becoming the Senior British Champion last month. With support from SportsAid and partner Asda, his sights are set on selection for the Senior European Championships 2010 in Russia.

Joel has been mastering the martial art since the age of five. He is now a 2nd Dan Black Belt and before stepping up to senior level in 2009 he was the number one ranked junior in Europe.

Being Senior British Champion and with a recent rush of gold medals at National and International competition there is no reason why Joel cannot achieve both his goals for the season or his ultimate dream of competing in the 2012 or 2016 Olympics Games.

With the Dutch and Belgium Opens to look forward to in March and April 2010, hopes are high for Joel to continue dominating his competitors and secure his place for the trip to Russia this year.
