DATE OF BIRTH: July 16, 1985

PLACE OF BIRTH: Mansfield

BASED: Manchester

WEIGHT: -68kg

WHEN DID YOU START TAEKWONDO AND WHY: I was 13 and used to get into street fights. My dad, Philip, told me and my brothers to start taekwondo so we could look after ourselves.

OTHER SPORTS PLAYED: Junior football, Saturday and Sunday Leagues. I was a right winger.

HONOURS: 2006 Commonwealth Games gold. 2008 Commonwealth Games silver, 2008 British International gold, 2009 World Championship quarter-finalist, 2009 Korean Open silver, 2009 Belgian Open bronze, 2010 Dutch Open bronze, 2010 British International gold (beating current world champion).

AMBITION: Gold medal at London 2012.

ROLE MODEL/FAVOURITE OTHER SPORTSMAN OR WOMAN: Our coach Paul Green. He's just so professional. His attitude and the effort he puts into his  work are brilliant.

WHY SHOULD THE PUBLIC WATCH TAEKWONDO: Fast and dynamic. You can see people knocked out and the entertainment level is only going to get better.

IF SOMEONE GAVE YOU £1 MILLION, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH IT:  No matter how much money I received I'd still keep up taekwondo. Then I'd buy a house and a car, keeping most of it  until after I've retired.

SOMETHING YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT TONY GRISMAN:  Big fan of Kings of Leon.
