We are very pleased to announce that Miss Jodie Sinden has been appointed as an International Referee at the World Taekwondo Europe’s Cadet Championships in Hungary this weekend.
Jodie 23, has been involved in Taekwondo since she was six years of age starting training with Martin Baker at WTA Kings Taekwondo. She earned her Black Belt at the age of 9 and continued to gain her 5th Dan last December. Jodie took a corner judge course to get a better understanding of the rules but then realised she enjoyed officiating more than fighting – so took the referee’s course and has been a referee for the past six years.
“I am the newest and youngest International Referee for Great Britain, and the Cadets are the youngest age group that compete at the European Championships, so I think that it’s amazing that I have been selected to referee at this competition. For a lot of these kids this is their first major championships and it is also mine, I think it’s brilliant that we have the opportunity to experience International competition together. I’d like to thank everyone involved at BritishTaekwondo for making it possible” Jodie Sinden
Jodie – Good luck from all at British Taekwondo on your first of many International appointments !
