Relaunch for British Taekwondo Poomsae Performance Programme

To build on the success from the recent European Poomsae Championships where Great Britain secured 2 Silver and 4 Bronze medals, British Taekwondo Poomsae are looking to increase and improve the strength in depth of the existing national squad and would like to encourage and invite our clubs, instructors and students to get involved in the forthcoming talent identification programme as we work towards future World, European and Commonwealth Championships.

For the 2017-2018 season specifically working towards the 11th World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships to be held in Chinese Taipei in November 2018, along with developing a competitive team for other major upcoming championships, British Taekwondo Poomsae are initiating an identification phase, looking for talented male and female athletes with the drive, passion, desire and work ethic required to succeed at international level within the following age-specific competition categories:

Cadet and Junior Programme

For our Cadet and Junior Programme, there will be an additional Talent Camp held over the weekend of 5-6th August to assist in the identification process along with developing future talent. However, numbers will be strictly limited. Details on how to apply for the Talent Camp will be available on the British Taekwondo website in due course.

Following the conclusion of the Identification Phase, successful athletes will be invited to the Great Britain National Poomsae Squad in the Autumn to work alongside our newly formed coaching structure as we enter the Development Phase going into 2018.
