As you may or may not know, Tuesday the 8th of March is International Woman’s Day!
What’s International Women’s Day? Well, there’s quite a bit more to it, but essentially it’s a celebration of women, female achievement and a pledge for further progression.
So with all this in mind, we thought: what better opportunity to join this fantastic campaign and celebrate the female initiatives of our own. We’re celebrating women in taekwondo, women being active and women being confident and expressive.
Our female programme KickSister has gone from strength to strength, and we’ve been really happy to hear that more women are being active and confident through the classes. But of course, it’s not all about KickSister, but all women.
That’s why we’re supporting clubs to run female-based events / taster sessions in March. We’re offering clubs promotional giveaways for events that aim to engage women in Sport in March. Be it a walk by, try-taekwondo event or a female-only-fundraiser, we want to hear about it.
Contact Beth at the British Taekwondo Offices, and we’ll organise free giveaways for your event and publicise it across all of our channels. All we ask if for you guys to take plenty of fab pictures, and get back to us with some feedback about how your event went.
We’re celebrating all women in Taekwondo, and as part of this campaign, we also want to share your story. Send us your sweaty KickSister selfies, your smiley club photographs, tell us why you love taekwondo; tell us your stories.
You can send these to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Beth can also be contacted by phone on 01623 662 002
Today marks one month until International Woman’s Day, and we hope you’ll join us in celebrating women and, most importantly, Pledging for Parity. Pledging for Parity is this year’s theme.
We’ve made the pledge, will you?
We can’t wait to celebrate active, confident women in taekwondo!
